Legal Assistant Lissette Zavala works with unaccompanied children housed in the Nashville area. She is a graduate of Middle Tennessee State University (B.A., Political Science Pre-law & International Relations). Lissette has fifteen years of experience as an immigration paralegal. Her experience includes: refugee, asylum, unaccompanied children, victims of violence, deportation and removal, employment-based, family based, and naturalization cases. She believes in the empowering of immigrants and refugees by educating them and defending their rights. She joined MIA because she “wants to help protect children and survivors of violent crimes.” She is a world traveler and enjoys learning and experiencing other cultures.
